The gnome arrives unpainted, made of poplar plywood. The body is one solid piece with engraved lines – the hat, beard, hands and feet are already drawn. A little bird, the beard with nose and two little boots that are glued on top come separately. A self-adhesive neodymium magnet is included in the pack.
Why the Fridge
A Creation That Won't End Up in a Drawer
Most kids' crafts end up the same way. They sit on a shelf for a while, then get packed into a box and nobody ever looks at them again. The fridge is different – you walk past it fifty times a day, and the child sees that their work belongs somewhere.
The practical advantage is just as good: it doesn't take up an inch of shelf space and there's nothing to knock over. It also sticks to a metal board, a cabinet door or a magnetic board in the kids' room.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How to Do It
It's easier than it looks. Just please read the first step before you reach for the glue.
1
Paint before you start assembling. Lay the pieces out on newspaper and color them one by one. Once the beard and the bird are glued on, you can't get a brush under them.
2
Don't forget the little bird. It's the smallest piece and the easiest to forget. Its eye and wing are engraved, so two colors are all it takes to make it look alive. Then give watercolors fifteen minutes to dry; acrylics, better half an hour.
3
Glue it together. The beard with nose onto the body, the bird onto the edge of the hat, the boots at the bottom. A drop of Herkules on each joint is enough. If it spreads, no problem – wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, and a thin layer turns clear anyway.
4
The magnet goes on the back. Attach it roughly in the middle of the body so the gnome doesn't hang crooked on the fridge. The magnet is self-adhesive and made of neodymium, so it holds really well on the fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the magnet included in the pack?
Yes, a self-adhesive neodymium magnet is included in the pack.
Is it the same gnome as the one on the leaf?
Yes, the design is exactly the same – a gnome with a little bird on its hat. Only the mounting differs: this one has a magnet on the back, while the leaf version gets a leaf base instead and stands on its own.
Should I paint first or assemble first?
Definitely paint first. The beard and the little bird are glued onto the body, so once they're on, you can't get a brush under them. Color everything separately, let it dry and only then assemble.
Will the magnet hold a wooden figure on the fridge?
Yes, 3 mm plywood weighs almost nothing. Attach the magnet roughly in the middle of the back; otherwise the gnome might tilt.
Is it suitable for preschool or a club?
Yes, just plan on one piece per child. The advantage of a magnet is that kids take it home and put it up right away – no need to find a place to stand it. We issue invoices with payment terms to preschools, schools, municipalities and organizations – just enter the organization's name and its registration or tax ID number when you order.
