A Halloween pumpkin made of 3 mm poplar plywood, 15 × 15 cm. The eyes and jagged mouth are cut all the way through, and the pumpkin's ribs are engraved. The tip of the stem has a hole for string. We ship it unpainted and in one piece – nothing to glue. Available individually or in a pack of five.
The Face Is Already Done
You Just Color – the Grin Is Already There
Few people can draw a properly mean face on a pumpkin. Here you don't have to – the eyes and teeth are cut right into the wood. And the engraved rib lines show where to lighten the pumpkin and where to darken it.
At 15 cm, it's a pumpkin even people on the street will notice. Hung in a window against the light, its eyes and mouth really glow.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How to Do It
Nothing needs gluing here, so it's just painting and hanging.
1
Lay down newspaper. Paint goes through the cut-out face, so better protect the table.
2
Color the pumpkin rib by rib. Lighter in the middle of each stripe, darker at the edges along the engraved lines – that gives the pumpkin its shape. Give watercolors a quarter of an hour to dry, acrylics preferably half an hour.
3
The stem comes last. Use a thin brush for the stem and tendril – they're the thinnest parts. If the green runs into the orange, let it dry and paint over it with orange again.
4
Thread and hang. Thread jute twine or fishing line through the hole in the stem. On fishing line, the pumpkin looks as if it's floating freely in the window.
Three Ideas for Using It
Where to Hang the Pumpkin
A large pumpkin with a cut-out face stands out most where light shines through from behind.
For the Window
During the day, daylight shines through the face; in the evening, light from the room. Trick-or-treaters will see it from the sidewalk.
For the Front Door
Instead of a fall wreath. Visitors will know right away that you celebrate Halloween.
A Garland of Five Pumpkins
A pack of five makes a garland across a whole window or fireplace. Alternate orange with green, like in our photos.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to draw a face on the pumpkin?
No, the eyes and jagged mouth are cut through the wood. Just color the pumpkin around them and the face is done on its own.
Is string for hanging included in the pack?
String is not included in the pack. Both jute twine and thin fishing line fit through the hole in the stem.
Does the pumpkin have to be orange?
Not at all. In our photos, you'll also find a toxic-green version. A purple, black or white pumpkin looks just as good for Halloween.
Is it suitable for preschool or a club?
Yes. The large surface is easy for younger kids to color, and the face is already done, so nobody has to struggle with drawing. Nothing needs gluing; the activity fits into one hour. For a class of 25 kids, plan on five packs of five. We issue invoices with payment terms to preschools, schools, municipalities and organizations – just enter the organization's name and its registration or tax ID number when you order.
