A scene made of 3 mm poplar plywood: a bare tree with a bat, two pumpkins beneath it and a third pumpkin wearing a witch's hat with a second bat fluttering above it. The pumpkins' faces are laser-cut all the way through. We ship it unpainted in two pieces – the scene and the base, which are best glued together with Herkules so the decoration holds firmly.
Why This One
A Whole Halloween Decoration, Not Just One Pumpkin
You'd otherwise have to hunt down the pumpkin, the bat and the spooky tree separately and then figure out how to arrange them side by side. Here they are combined into one picture that tells its own story.
Thanks to its low, wide shape, it fits on a windowsill or the edge of a shelf. And because the pumpkins' faces are cut through, they really glow in a window against the light.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How to Do It
As with all our products: paint first, then glue.
1
Paint both pieces separately. Lay the scene and the base out on newspaper – paint goes right through the faces. Separate pieces are easier to paint, and you can reach every edge.
2
From large areas to details. First the tree and the ground, then the pumpkins. Leave the hat and bats for last and use a thin brush for them. Give watercolors fifteen minutes to dry; acrylics, better half an hour.
3
Be careful with the branches and bats. They're the thinnest parts of the whole scene, so don't press too hard.
4
Once everything is dry, glue the scene to the base. Herkules is enough. If glue oozes out, wipe it off with a slightly damp cloth – a thin layer turns clear when dry.
Three Ideas for Using It
Where to Put the Decoration
For the Windowsill
Against a window, the pumpkins' faces stand out.
For a Shelf or Dresser
As a large piece of Halloween decor. A few small pumpkins or dried leaves around it complete the look.
For the Holiday Table
In the middle of the table at a Halloween party. It's low, so guests can still see each other over it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to glue the scene?
You don't have to, but it's better. The scene and the base come as two separate pieces, and for extra stability we recommend gluing them together with Herkules. Without glue, the scene may wobble on the base and fall out when you move it.
Should I paint first or glue first?
Paint first. Color the scene and the base separately, let them dry and only then glue them together. Each piece is easier to paint separately, and you can reach every edge.
Do I have to draw faces on the pumpkins?
No, the eyes and jagged mouths are cut through the wood. Just color the pumpkins around them and the faces are done on their own.
Won't the bats or branches break?
Not with normal painting. But these are the thinnest parts of the scene, so don't press on them with the brush, and carry the scene by the base, not by the tree.
Is it suitable for preschool or a club?
Yes, just plan on one piece per child. Kids color both the scene and the base, and you can glue them together at the end of the day once the paint is dry. We issue invoices with payment terms to preschools, schools, municipalities and organizations – just enter the organization's name and its registration or tax ID number when you order.
